Major Jack Lewis Hart – 151319
1919 – 28 June 2015

Jack Lewis Hart was born in early 1919 in Faversham, Kent. His father, Robert Hart (born 1891) worked for Peek Freans and Co biscuit manufacturer in Bermondsey; and his mother Elsie Hart (nee Jeffrey) (born 1887) was a housewife.
Jack became a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery on 28th September 1940 as part of the 121st O.C.T.U. and in December 1940 he married Joan Millbrough Hawkes.
Jack served with 211 Bty, 111 Field Regiment throughout the war, often as an OP officer. He was Mentioned in Dispatches on 21 June 1945.
After the war, Jack lived with Joan and they were together until her death in 2005. Jack passed away on 28 June 2015 in Sevenoaks, Kent.
On all of the regimental photos I have of the 111th Field Regiment, Jack can be always be seen with his big smile.
