War Diaries

War Diaries

During the Second World War, all units in the British Army kept meticulous daily records of their activities, locations and orders.

At present, these diaries are kept by the National Archives are have not been digitised and are therefore not available online. Over the course of two years, my partner and I have visited the National Archives at Kew to photograph the records and transcribe them.

The tabs below include the majority of the War Diary entry for each given month. These entries have been supplemented with images and other additional entries such as personal accounts, medal citations and other information. If you are looking for information on a particular date, do please get in touch.
